Our History
Victoria Kirk Interiors was established in 2007 and is based in the New York City area. The firm provides a range of interior design services in both public and private commissions. Ms. Kirk’s global design aesthetic is influenced by her European parents and a childhood split between New York, the Philippines and Paris. Her first practice, MOVK, opened in 2000 and specialized in restaurant, retail, and hospitality design. The firm was singled out by Britain’s Retail Interiors as one of the new ten hot design firms in 2001.
Ms. Kirk spent the next 7 years developing the interiors division for Tsao & Mckown architects working on a range of projects including several New York residences, the Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok and the luxury Cipriani Residences in downtown New York. When Victoria Kirk Interiors was established in 2007, her focus turned to residential commissions in and around New York City and eastern Long Island.
Our Process
Our philosophy is that a client’s home or business should tell a story about the people who live in or work in those spaces. To achieve this, we believe in a collaborative design process between the interior designer and client as well as with other project consultants such as architect, lighting designer and contractor. Our team’s collaborative approach encourages a free exchange of ideas with each individual bringing their unique expertise to the table.
It is also our goal that each project should be tailored to the site and sensitive to the architectural context, integrating the two in a seamless fashion that is both life friendly and viscerally alluring. Our style tends towards a warmer version of modernism with an eclectic slant. An ironclad culture of feedback, refinement and dialogue as well as a sensitivity to the client and their “brand” has helped to solidify a reputation of professionalism and creatively inspired spaces. Our work has received numerous awards and has been featured in several national and global design publications.
