LIQUIDITY juice bar, New York
Tasked to create a unique, modular, quick to market, lean methodology driven prototype and roll-out. An elevated reinvention of the traditional juice bar - an immersive space bringing to life the visceral experience of health through fresh fruit. Targeted to active, independent urban professionals between 22 – 45 years old, the space would need to readily communicate the benefits of smart drinks as snacks or meal replacements. In collaboration with Lab Inc., a seamless graphics and packaging program begins with the Liquidity logo as a fluid, modern interpretation of the product and its promise of nourishment and refreshment.
A series of layered cylinders dispense ice into a stainless cistern below. The cylinders are illuminated from above and within, highlighting fruit and the ice. The entire unit is mounted in a drop ceiling tracing the counter below. A runway defines the right side of the space and is distinguished by contrasting flooring and wall textures; the bottom white lacquer panels against upper acoustical foam to absorb the whir of blenders. A recessed display shelf of titanium and bubble glass showcases branded merchandise. Backlit foam panels illuminate the runway, adding light to color and texture providing a transition from the street to the menu wall as a second focal point which offers the Liquidity logo as a fluid, modern interpretation of the product over camouflage and its promise of nourishment and immune enhancement.
Poised to take on Jamba Juice for national dominance in the smoothie, juice and meal replacement category, the venture capital company funding the project was forced to pull back funding following the dot com crash. Liquidity was widely published and anticipated by potential customers who would show up at the office after flying to NYC to visit the prototype.
